To Stadtmiller and Quayle's credit, IMO they are al least good
at -sounding- like they know what they are talking about--Stadtmiller
in particular. Of course, appearances are frequently deceiving.

Many people (including me) judge them on
their December, 1999, broadcasts.

This is not a kind thing to do.
