One of my pet peeves concerns the number of batteries in a lot of
portable devices. A lot of them take **three** batteries. All the
chargers I've seen take either two or four batteries at a time. That's
how they're sold, too.

MAHA C401FS does AAA and AA individually in any combination up to 4.
Accupower Accumanager 20 does AAA to D's individually up to 4, plus up to two 9v.

The old CCrane QuickCharger does up to 4 AAA to D's, but in parallel, so a dirty
contact will leave you with an uncharged battery since you can't monitor them.
This charger has a meter, though, and is handy to have. Also it will sometimes
start to charge a battery others will reject as defective, that can then be
charged on the others.
