I think the following sentences are important in evaluating this story:

"Motivated by pride in her husband and pique at the manner in which the
Bush family discarded him once they believed he was no longer useful,
the interview is the first she has ever given."

In other words, she's saying this because she's angry with the Bush
family for firing her husband.

The premise of her story is silly.

They tried to hide him by getting him a job in a neighboring state,
working as a political director on a Senate campaign?

Nice low profile job.
