Why Tecsun/Degen cheaper?

I noticed that Tecsun puts out radio that are identical to Grundig , and I
believe Degen has products identical
to Kaito (Degen 1102/Kaito1102). But, the Tecsun and Degen labels are
usually substantially lower in price. Is that because they are made directly
in China while Grundig and Kaito are not?? Any quality difference with
Tescun compared to Grundig??
Grundig's 350 sometimes sells for $99 while the Tecsun version sells for
$30-$40 less on Ebay sites. Looks like the same radio. One good thing
though, all this competition gives more variety and hopefully better quality
radios along with lower costs.

The difference is marketing, middlemen, English-language labelling and
maneuals (in some cases) and US warranty and tech support.

The radios are the often same. There is occasional talk that Grundig/Eton
extracts better quality control on their private-label production runs
than Tecsun exercises on their domestic-market stuff ... but there is no
proof of this; and considerable circumstantial evidence that it is false.
