Shortwave book lies about scheduling!
Yesterday I picked up a 2001 copy of Passport to World Band Radio©.
I can't expresss my disappointment enough. It seems every shown frequency I can tune in is being broadcast NOW (2004AD) and NOT from 2001AD. Why waste so many resources on information for the 2001 broadcast year when the programmes simply aren't available? This sort of fraudulent presentation would NEVER be allowed on any other life supporting planet that *I* know of..shameful... It's occurred to me the radio may be at fault, so I'll be checking the Chronosynch© circuitry later today. Knowing that NO Chronosynch© crystal has ever failed before is giving little hope, however. ©mike II -- __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ © / /\ / /\ / /\ / /\ / /\ / /\ / /\ / / / /\ \/ /\ \/ /\ \/ / /_/ \/_/ \/_/ \/_/ \/_/ \/_/ \/_/ \/_/ ©..let the cat out to reply.. ©Densa International ©'Think tanks cleaned cheap' |
Morning,
Question, Why would want/care what is posted in a 2001 copy of PWBR??? I have used the book all over the world for years and found it to be great and a lot better then that other book (I think World TV & Radio) -- Burr Grundigs, 200, YB400, 650 & 800 Drake SW3 Scanners, BC245 & 895 Sangean DT 110 for Tract & Ball Games Ont, Ca 34.03.16Nx117.36.21W RC, Ca. 35.35.82Nx117.41.57W "m II" wrote in message news:aNC2d.39661$KU5.31098@edtnps89... Why did you get a 2001 copy?
Passport To World Band Radio is an annual publication. This years issue 2004 plainly on the cover! In my opinion a superb publication, if not the best. Did you buy this from Ebay? ; ) "m II" wrote in message news:aNC2d.39661$KU5.31098@edtnps89... Yesterday I picked up a 2001 copy of Passport to World Band Radio©. Just ordered mine off of Amazon. I ordered the 2005 which is supposed to be
out around the end of next month. It was about U.S. $16. I have been told that you need to keep an updated copy as sometimes frequencies and schedules change. Off of Amazon website: "Passport to World Band Radio, New 2005 Edition : Number One Seller, Year after Year (Passport to World Band Radio)" Magne;Paperback; $16.07 "Vincent Everett" wrote in message ... The problem is that your radio is too new. Go buy a radio made before 2001. Just in case that does not work get yourself an FTL (faster than light) spaceship and do warp speed for a 3 light years and then try the radio again. -- Telamon Ventura, California |
in reply to the original poster,
so you like to listen to what's known in thhe radio and tv fields as long-delayed echoes. Well, at shortwave frequencies here on Earth, you can't. that's because the Earth has what is called an ionosphere. When you were in outer space, any shortwave radio signals sent from spaceships would bounce off the Earth's ionosphere if they hit Earth's darkside and bounce back to you taking however many light years away you are to get to you. But shortwave radio signals originating from the Earth reflect off the Earth's ionosphere and bounce back to Earth, not making it into outer space at all. so no Earth-originated shorwave radio long-delayed echoes for you. even if you come down to Earth. So you'll just have to stay up in space. But you can try for long-delayed echoes of ourr tv signals. Our tv was much better in the past than it is now. ;) |

well, take a look at this. This guy discovered that the alien he had been
