(OT) Google Groups 2 (BETA) = Yahoo Groups {eGroups} ?
FO&A,
(OT) Google Groups 2 (BETA) = Yahoo Groups {eGroups} ? Is Google trying to transform the "Usenet" [NewsGroups] into a YAHOO eGroup type of OnLine "Members Only" Assembly ? New! Preview the next version of Google Groups http://www.google.com/grphp?hl=en&ta...UTF-8&oe=UTF-8 iwtk ~ RHF .. |
It sounds to me like Google is going to "piggy back" their new service onto the Usenet groups, not replace them. From their "About Google Groups" page:
"You can also use Google Groups to post your own comments to an existing Usenet newsgroup." Personally, I think they're messing with a tried and true public forum and I hope their efforts will flop. I'm sure they are envious of YahooGroup's success and would like to get part of their "business". Guy ---------------------------------------------------- "RHF" wrote in message om...
