A good idea from the Canadians.
Some of my best friends are Canadians, but I would be more likely to
listen to ideas from Canadians if they would stick to their knitting and do something about the two-line offside in hockey. It makes the neutral zone trap very effective to the detriment of the game--assuming that the game survives the lock-out, that is. So how about looking into that, Canadians? |
I agree with you. Open up the middle.
Also, increase the size of the net, or decrease the size of the goalies. They should try shoot-outs for ties and perhaps four-on-four. At the moment, the game is mostly a bore to watch. Now, about the political posts...please do not think that all Canadians are the mindless political sucks you hear about in the media. Outside Toronto and Montreal, Canadians are quite pro-US and politically conservative. Unfortunately, just as the media in the US is manipulated and distorted from NY and LA, our media is screwed up by the socialists running CBC. And, when we do get US news, it comes from the Associated Press, which should be indicted in the US for sedition. They seem at least as bad as Tokyo Rose. In Canada, the journalism schools still do a pretty good job training people to separate fact from opinion. |

In 40 years of visiting Canada, I have only become acquainted with one "kook" of the Nelson, BC ilk, and he was the son of a German prisoner of war who was given permission to stay and become a citizen after WWII. His pussy-warped view of history was that the U.S. only won the cold war because we out-spent the soviets. Jack |

The neutral zone trap has created a quagmire at center ice. I suspect that Halliburton makes the paint for the center ice line so the NHL is afraid to do away with it. |

Incidently, the area was mostly originally settled post 1780 by "loyalists" fleeing from the "patriots" post-American Revolution. |
