CFVP 6030 Calgary, AB.

Anyone know what programming exactly CFVP (6030) is broadcasting now? It
seems to be some spanish language programming all the time--is it a
rebroadcast?

I've noticed that in the last 4 months or so, the signal is much weaker,
and there is a "bubbling" type of interference sound on this station. I
live in Calgary so I was using it as a benchmark sometimes. Is there any
sort of reception problems normally when you are too close to a SW
transmitter?

I hear that QRM interference as well. I hear two distinct stations
broadcasting on 6030 kHz currently, 1033 UTC. One his music with
Spanish lyrics. The other sounds like an Asian language newscast. It's
very difficult to pick one signal out of the three to focus on.

The interference is by far the loudest of the three here, btw.

CFVP broadcasting Spanish language programming? Don't they relay CKMX? Has CKMX
gone to all Spanish language programming? Is CFVP even still on?

Methinks you must be hearing something other than CFVP on 6030.

After doing some research it would appear that CFVP is still on. Hearing CFVP
usually involves finding an open time on the frequency when it is not being used by
others.

Years ago, CFVP was audible here in the wee hours of the morning during such a
window when the frequency was unoccupied.

QSL'd here as are CKZN 6160, CKZU 6160, CFCX 6005, CFRX 6070, CKFX 6080 and CHNX
6130.

Hearing here at 1250 presumed CKZN 6160 carrying CBC programming.

They still relay CKMX/1060.

What you're hearing as well are Radio Marti, the Amurrican propaganda
stn aimed at Cuba, and Cuba's efforts to jam it.
