THE 41m & 49m BANDS
I find it interesting that the 2 bands that I usually pick up the best
are the 41 & 49 meters. Most other bands don't come in too well. (Depending on the weather.) And I never get anything on the 120 meter. I use my radios telescopic antenna. 73 |
You will probably find things will improve significantly if you are able to
put up an outside antenna! Mark. "SR" wrote in message ... I find it interesting that the 2 bands that I usually pick up the best are the 41 & 49 meters. Most other bands don't come in too well. Using the telescoping antenna is the major problem with your reception

No disputatious diatribe, innate? Yer slippin' as bad as Shrub. Ya coulda at
least elucidated that most shortwave portables have medium wave attenuators whose effects usually extend into 120 metre band reception. Even with an outside antenna, Sony's 2010 has a hard time copying west coast a.m.ers on 1.925 mhz during their evening sessions. Barring mods to remove said attenuators, porta-top & tabletop receivers are better suited for 120 metre reception, propogation permitting. |
