SONY 7600DA audio problem

purchased SONY 7600DA via EBAY--seller said "works great"---the audio is (a)
weak and (b) squeels badly when tuned to a strong station on AM or shortwave

The amp Vcc buffer and output coupling caps are the most likely
candidates for replacement (they're likely to be the biggest ones). I'd
assume the speaker is still intact, nevertheless an optical check can't
hurt.

You start by providing plenty of NEGATIVE feedback for the seller!

If the radio belonged to a smoker, or it is just dusty inside, it may need
some cleaning.
