Brother Stair infests Europe's MW band.
 

Tuning around our MW bands last night around 1900 UTC, I caught the tail end
of a Voice of Russia transmission on 1386 kHz out of Kaliningrad, which was
followed by those familiar trumpets of doom and some ranting preacher
reading text from the book of Revelation. Then the great prophet himself
came on the air saying he had leased time on 1386 "out of Radio Mos-kow".

He also said he was leasing Monte Carlo 702 kHz which was just about audible
at my QTH. He then went into some "talking in tongues" mode which made
constant reference to the "Soviet Union". This guy is predicting the end of
the world, but hasn't grasped what happed in Russia over 14 years ago!

Such luck! This is the most exciting time of the year for the Brother Stair
listener, when the Prophet makes his annual Halloween announcement that
"SATAN WALKS THE EARTH!!!"

those old tapes. Was this the one in which the Prophet saw his death at the
hands of the Pope of Rome?

Come on Frank. Scientists now believe there may be a parallel universe or
even a number of parallel universes. So it is quite possible the Prophet
actually met his demise at the hands of the Pope of Rome. Oh by the way. It
was on the BBC. : )

I wouldn't bet on that. His folks don't use radios, as well as TVs.
They have speakers all about the farm and the people can listen to Bro.
Stair 24/7 almost. I think they pull that straight off the satellite
which lets everyone constantly monitor if it fails - though certain ones
are assigned to respond in case it fails. This used to feed through a
low power FM transmitter which fed the speakers. HOWEVER, he *may* now
feed it through another source as he bought a radio station some
distance from the farm several years back. Not sure if it is AM or FM.
This is a licensed station. I expect he is now feeding the speakers
from that stations input. Again, it probably comes from the satellite
to the station to the speakers. Not sure. It has been a long time
since I visited the place . . . Years! Oh, if the satellite fails it
probably indicates a failure to send a signal up - thus the response
team. I expect both the referenced stations also pick up their
programming from the satellite. It doesn't matter what he says to most
of his folks. Since he is "THE man of God" many will believe whatever
he says. Probably no one at the farm dared to question him about the
lie he told on 702 when a fellow demanded to know his age. Don't know
what his point was. Perhaps he thought Bro. Stair was too young or too
old, but he told him twice that he was 51 (not sure of the one) when he
was 71 (again not sure if it was 1, 2 or 3) but anyway he had subtracted
20 years. Then he corrected it (without apology) and told him the
correct age twice.

One old tape you probably WON'T hear is the one where he says that his
daughter would not reach the age of 13. THE LORD TOLD HIM SO! I
suppose this was to emphasize the urgency for sending him all your old
worldly possessions so he could put it to good use spreading the Gospel.
Anyway, his daughter is probably about 17 or better now!

They've replayed the Prophet's Pope of Rome Prophesy and Reagan Prophesy, so
there might not be anything they won't replay.

This is good - now maybe the profit can predict when Nikita Khruschev
will leave office.

This may be an example of the gain possible with a 10-12 km long Rhombic MW
antenna.
1386 khz ~ 341 m (prob only 250 m)
10 km ~ 29 wavelengths

There has to be be a mistake in the original item. Bolshakovo 1386 carries
Voice of Russia until 1900 UTC when this tx is obliged to close down in
accordance with the agreement between Lithuanian and Russian telecom
authorities. From 1902 UTC, Sitkunai in Lithuania takes over 1386 with
China Radio International. I spoke with the operators in Lithuania and they
say that they definitely did not carry the Overcomer Ministry on 1386 at
any time. It is highly unlikely that the operators in Russia would break
the agreement and would leave Bolshakovo on the air together with Sitkunai.

I can also add that the antenna in Bolshakovo for 1386 is not a mystery. It
is no "rhombic antenna" monster, but a type called "SV4+4", one of the
standard types for long distance MW transmision designed in the USSR. It
consists of two rows of 4 masts (each with a height of 100m), one active
row and one passive. Bolshakovo has three such units for different
directions.
