Aerial connection
 

Is the external aerial connection on the Sangean ATS505 also have an earth
connection? If so which pin on the plug is for the earth?
Any help appreciated

You should just try an external antenna first; the set will act as a ground

The Tip-End is the Antenna Wire Connection.

The Rear-Barrel is the Ground Wire Connection.
