Default TWEAK !!! There goes the whip antenna...

I dont believe I did it. I broke the whip antenna on my new 7600gr. I had
it set up with the sleep timer on when I went to bed. The whip was extended
and I had the external antenna clipped on to it. The external wire was
running across the room. I woke up later in the evening and decided to get a
drink of water. I forgot I had the antenna wire going across the room.
Yep... I walked right into it. The radio came flying off the shelf I had it
on, and when I turned the light on, the whip antenna was bent at a 90 degree
angle.. LOL... TWEAK !!!!!!!!

I'm gonna call Sony parts and see about getting a replacement. I bet the
antenna cost $100.00 :-)

I still dont believe I did it... TWEEEEEEEAK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No chance... I need a new antenna... I tried to bend it back and it snaped
off completely... LOL I'm just glad that that was the only damage...

You're lucky they bothered with you. Sony, at least here, has a
reputation for arrogance reminiscent of mid sixties/seventies IBM.

A friend recently lost his USB cord for a digital Sony camera. Sony
wasn't going to sell him just a cord. They wanted him to buy a card
reader that had the cord with it. A call to customer relations got
exactly the same response.

He wound up getting an aftermarket card reader and won't be buying any
more Sony products.

That's the down side of Japanese products. They sell them for a
competitive price, then scr*w you when it's time for parts. This is why
so many electronic products have become disposable. It doesn't help that
companies like Sony have to ship their parts from Japan, which can take
months if they're not in stock in the US. I waited three months for a
part to fix a Casio keyboard. Most people would have junked it.
