more unusual military traffic

I started monitoring 11.175 at 14:50z and heard a message of 217 characters,
(the longest message I've ever heard--previous longest was about 120). This
message was heard on this frequency only. During the repeat message, Offutt
came up with other message traffic. This message was heard on 5
frequencies. This is unusual. I had never heard two different EAMs go out
on 11.175 at the same time. I have heard the same message slightly delayed
(receiving 2 stations). After their first message, Offutt came up with a
Sky King call.

Back to the first: shortly after, a message of 48 characters was heard,
after which the party signed off. He had ID'd himself as 'bee bread'. He
then said, "Bee Bread standing by for traffic". No response.

Both Bee Bread and Offutt have continued to rebroadcast those 2 messages
over and over. I have heard messages repeated but not like this.

After Bee Bread's signoff, he stood by for traffic. After a pause I heard
him say, 5 Romeo Alpha, I have you Lima Charlie. Short pause, then signoff.
Must be working duplex as nothng was heard from 5RA.

16:25z, Offutt broadcast a Sky King call.

I've heard at least 3 or 4, not necessarily the same (EAM) ones, but certainly
3-4 stations all at the same time.

In fact, I was hearing 3 at the same time just a bit ago.

It does get busy at times.

I don't know if it's unusual as I am not often home at this time to
listen so there goes my 'baseline' for comparison. I too am not
accustomed to hearing 'standing by for traffic' but just consider it
a bonus as it's something different from what I normally hear.
Perhaps due to the duration of the message they are just ensuring
that anyone who had traffic during the message knows to come forward
with it.

On the other hand, it could be a call to arms in support of a US

Agreed, hard to correlate especially being that we don't know the
actual content of the messages. One thing that comes to mind however
is previous discussion on this group (not recent) that an indicator of
something noteworthy happening is the lack of activity on the HF
system due to truly sensitive information is via secure satellite

Interesting, as I just indicated to a friend in my chat room that the time to worry

Back from dinner. While I was monitoring, I copied about 30 characters and
used this to verify that the same messages were being repeated over and over

I've heard what sounds like a computer generated voice (female?) doing
these messages for a long time. Probably a string of wav files, each one
consisting of "Lima", then "delta", and so on separately read by a real
person previously. If you listen closely, the same letters are called
exactly the same way, obviously not live, as they screw them up a lot
when they just "wing it"..

It's called "doubling". Hams do it all the time.

Understand also that the Mil Traffic ComSta today
are staffed by 19-24 year olds who likely
grew up with the Internet and haven't never
owned or operated a CB or any other radio TX
(mabey a FRS at the mall when they were 14 ?)
and know how to work a radio. (not a disparaging
comment but a statement of likely facts)

Still curious traffic however. Likely it's because the election
is so close and MIL/OHS/FBI and everyone else are now
talking to each other. It's all timing and **syncronicity**.
