I've noticed people with userid's like "fraud-auction" bidding on
auctions from some scam sellers, but ebay will kick those userid's off
the system pretty quickly.

If you don't bid enough to win, you may do the seller a favor by driving
up the price. There may be legal implications if you win and don't

Sellers can reject bids, and I imagine a bid from a userid calling the
seller a crook would get rejected pretty quickly.

But a generic userid implying the seller isn't honest might be an
interesting strategy for scaring off other bidders so you can buy things
cheap. (obviously sellers won't like you)

In any case, when you've been burned by a seller, the best strategy is,
to use the system to file complaints and claims, and tell your friends
so they don't repeat your mistake.

And understand once you give a negative feedback, the seller is unlikely
to do anything to make the transaction right.

I'm not familiar with the inner workings of eBay, but a couple of
questions come to mind. If he was kicked off once, how does eBay
explain that he is back? Also, if Ebay kicked off his "gottahaveit"
alter ego, why aren't they aware the original is back? I know Ebay
makes their $$$ off of sellers, but it seems as though they are aware
that this guy is an issue and need to explain why they've allowed his
return.

I'm also surprised in the relatively small market for this equipment
that there are people who will id on his stuff despite his rep. Isn't
he pretty well known by now?

For most offenses, ebay will naru folks for a limited time - perhaps 30-90 days depending on what it is. If it involved fraud complaints, he may have had to reimburse ebay for what they paid under buyer protection.
Unfortunately for buyers, ebay's buyer protection is limited, and they have a deductible, so it's possible buyers were still out money.

Otherwise, the ebay system is basically a system of rules, with little if any room for judgment calls.

gottahaveit1995 is also back now. That is his "buying" account.

Thanks for the info. It's interesting that eBay's idea of punishment
is banishment for a short period, rather than a "death penalty." IMO,
if someone is naru'd that really should be the end of them if Ebay was
serious.

I noticed that he was selling for a short period as gottahaveit, and
explicitly denied that he was RadioMart in an odd type of disclaimer
he attached. Then gottahaveit disappeared and some assumed that he'd
been naru'd. Not to get too legal, but it seems that his denial of a
connection between gottahaveit and RadioMart might establishes a type
of "intent to defraud" that should interest Ebay, especially if they
know the two are one and the same. Also some of the Collins stuff
that he was trying to sell as gottahaveit might now be available from
Radiomart.
