It certainly seems to be. I just can't understand how such a
supposably large group can swallow so many lies. Kerry
received a less-than-honorable discharge, to boot! Where is
the mainstream media? In cheerleader outfits, cheering their
favorite Socialist. Only in America.

I'm glad "they're" not covering Kerry's less-than-honorable discharge
and that there's no discussion of Bush's alcohol problem. Let's get
down to what's important - Bush's daughters.

It is if you're near any of it when it goes off. Say it takes half a
pound to shatter a human body into pieces small enough to make it
unrecognizable.

A bit of arithmetic says that 377 tons (US 2000 pound ton) would equate
to 377 X 2000 X 2 = 1508000 single fatalities.

If anyone thinks that's a non issue, they are arms dealers, complete

Well I used to think highly of Canada, even though their coins kept
jamming up the vending machines in my lovel home state of Michigan.
But we were neighbors who enjoyed unfettered access accross a border
that wasn't really a border so much as a free-passage toll booth. My
travels to Windsor were fun; nice racetrack, real Cuban cigars,
fireworks were readily available as was good whiskey. I found Toronto
to be a beautiful city that was exceptionally clean and had a nice
museum. Of course, the only metropolitan area I had to compare it to
back then was Detroit, which may explain my awe and wonderment.
However, after seeing the lack of appreciation Canadians had for
Triumph the Insult Comic Dog (Conan O'Brien Show - guest filmed in
Montreal by Canadian request) I realized that Canada had become a
cultural backwater that indeed makes Cleveland Ohio a rather appealing
place to visit for cultural enlightenment. Since then I only buy maple
syrup from Vermont.

On behalf of all Canadians, I wish to extend my sincerest apologies to
Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, his family, his staff and all his adoring
fans south of the border. I have no explanation or excuse as to WHY a
sudden outbreak of taste, dignity and self respect should occur at a
very inopportune time.

The very fact that this grievous, ill considered and unfortunate episode
should so completely and bitterly devastate our long standing friendship
and cooperation certainly says something about the depth of our
aggregate intelligence.

The point is *NOT* the bazillion tons we have captured, but rather what
we *have not* captured that is presumably in the hands of the insurgents.

Even if 377 tons is one tenth of a percent and you use only 50 or 100

Yeah. We Canadians would be engaging in a rather futile exercise, thinking
we could influence today's election. That job has been taken by Bush's

Ian,

Are you planning on posting the photos to the 'net?
That'd be interesting. Too, maybe you can drop in and
keep us posted on your radio monitoring activities, once
you've returned? Come to think of it, you're going to
Hawaii, and I'd bet dollars to doughnuts you won't be
spending much time plugged in to the shortwave (wink)

Wink acknowledged!

Sure to have some photos on the net soon after. Of particular
interest will be any Scottish/Hawaiian connections; there are a few.
As for the radio side, will keep a log of what is heard in
Waikiki. DX probably not likely, but intend using the wire reel
clip-on antenna that came with the SW100. Will try to get AM from the
other islands; Maui probably easiest. Done it before with the AR7030,
but a bit bulky for the luggage.

I will be consulting these guides for reference -

good DX,

Ian
