Question about Sony ICF-SW77

I'm in the market for a Sony ICF-SW77. According to Passport (2005)
this set is getting increasingly difficult to find, but it is still
distributed in German & Japan. I'm interested in buying from a
reputable shop rather than an individual on eBay. Does anyone have a
source for this radio in Germany or Japan?

Thanks.

Looks like Universal Radio in Columbus, Ohio has a demo and several used
ones. Check the link below:

I just noticed that Universal Radio (www.universal-radio.com) has a
SW77 on their used equipment list. Universal is a very reputable
dealer and I wouldn't hesitate to purchase the SW77 from them.

Another alternative would be to visit the SW77 group over on Yahoo and
inquire whether any of the people there have a unit they'd be willing
to sell. It's a good group and I'd be more inclined to trust someone
from that group than someone on ebay.

Good luck!

Their used prices are very high. Look at Embay.

I got a price quoted from a Japanese merchant on eBay (a Sony dealer
-- sunnylife_jp). The price he quoted for the ICF-SW77 was $640 plus
S+H. Unfortunately, I lost his e-mail, so I may be off the mark by a
few dollars. He claimed that he could get a unit from the Sony
wharehouse in one day. He's also offering the AN-LP1 on eBay, which is
how I found him in the first place.

I also emailed the folks at http://www.refurbdepot.com, concerning
their refurbished unit (the Web page for the SW77 claims that they are
sold out). Last I heard they had just gotten some units in, and they
are priced @ 329.95. I can't vouch for this company, and they may
actually be sold out at this time. I got this hit using froogle.com.

Dear Santa....
