What kind of music did you hear?

In this band, especially here near the City, I get a handful of images
from powerful local MW stations; I get one regularly on 3980, which is
very annoying, but it's a 50-kw station less than two miles away built
on the same Bay plain where I reside ("common ground" so to speak) and
it's in my face with little recourse.

I also hear harmonics from another station, KFAX, on multiples of 1100
kHz - same situation, powerhouse just 2 miles away.

Could you have heard some MW images or harmonics getting through?

I heard foreign sounding music and then someone speaking in French. It
sounded like a pirate to me. It wasn't in a professional format that's for
sure. I was surprised to hear it on 3965 that's why I posted it.

3965 kHz is within a SW broadcast band. It's very common to hear many
SW AM stations from 3900 - 4000 kHz during the dark hours.

Well, that's at 0400-0500 UTC, and his reception was at 2327 UTC...

However, it appears as though France does use 3965 at 2327 per the new HFCC sked (which often needs
to be taken as someones dream), but it shows DRM at that time, which may or may not be the case.

I'm hearing what appears to be Radio France International on the frequency
(3965) in French at 2120.

Nothing noted here after the Chinese language program signed off at 2300.

I'm sure of the time I heard it too. But, I guess you're right and that's
what I heard. It just sounded like a pirate station to me when the music was
being played and there was talking in between. Maybe they were just
discussing the song?? shrug
