Help with HF Condition problems

can any body give me a report on how they are finding the conditions on the
HF band....
i am having trouble receiving signals i can only hear very local stations.
i.e stations in the uk and France / Germany.
a couple of weeks ago i was able to turn my AR5000 anytime day or night. and
tune in to 14.275mhz on the 20meter band for station K1MAN the international
amateur radio network. i could receive this station with a radio 5 signal 9+
no problem.
over the last few days i am finding it impossible to receive any station
apart from the very strongest signals from Germany and France...
any help would be great.....

current receiver AR5000A+3
main HF antenna Full sized G5RV run through an ATU.

location : London Heathrow

any advice would be great

Thanks: John

poor propogation, you can't do anything about it except listen as it
suddenly improves...
I can't hear much on any of the ham bands in Oklahoma, USA and the
atmospheric noise is 20 t0 30 over S9! But there have been some windows.
good luck

Shogun, here in Sactown this morn, Radio Australia's 9.590 mhz signal from
Shepparton was kind of weak. But Auntie Beeb's 9.740 mhz Asia feed from
Singapore was relatively strong, as was Radio Netherland's 12.080 mhz
Madagascar relay. Even Radio France International's 11.615 mhz Africa feed from
Issoudon-Allouis decided to settle in as well. Mayhap those propogational gods
are assuaging their ionospheric wrath!

Conditions have been very disturbed during the past week or so but are
slowly returning to normal.

All we can do is wait this one out. Here in the Midwest USA, conditions are
nothing to write home about. Even the old reliable 6mhz band at 0600-0900 GMT
is a bust right now. Hang in there, and good DXing to you, Gary

Here in California - Yesterday evening was great as well - Sri Lanka
on 9770 around 0100 was there with older EE pop music, and
RN/Madagascar, BBC/Singapore and RAI/Caltanisetta-Rome were all there
solid (in fact, Italy has never sounded better here). I am amazed how
consistently and solidly RNs Madagascar signal reaches my antenna, on
most any frequency, at most any time - from 11,000 miles away! Now,
for their 9345 Tashkent relay at 1400...

I wish those E. Europeans could get their signals here a bit better!
Prague, Budapest and Bucharest have never sounded decent at my QTH.
OTOH, the Lhasa (Tibet/China) outlets on 60m sounded fabulous here
this morning about 1500.
