You don't read what you post, do you? The Pasha of
Tripoli wanted protection money from pirates attacking our shipping interests. We'd been paying it since 1796 or so because we had other issues to deal with first, but didn't want to pay the "increase" the Pasha wanted. Doesn't sound like a "first thing we did was attack Muslims on the other side of the world", with the implication that it was preemtive in any way. If you want to build your case, you'd better a) read the entry first, and not just hope we don't read it, and b) learn a little history from some books (I'd recommend Tindall's "America: A Narrative History" volumes for a general overview) before you sound off. --Mike L. Mai Lai, etc? WHAT ETC? Do you have any idea how many Japanese lives we spared because we nuked only two small cities instead of Tokyo? Is there a shred of your brain working that lets you ask yourself why we hit them where we did? Your response was repulsive in my opinion, as it reflects a depth of depravity and ignorance that is dangerous to those of us that must protect you. Fortunately we are smarter than to waste our time being bitter about idiots, we simply work around them, and they usually fade away without hurting anyone but themselves. The measure of American's response to your diatribe could vary according to how hard you try to hurt others before you destroy yourself. Your freedom of speech has limits too which you will discover if you ever talk to a Vet like that in person. We saw California liberals disrupt a Michelle Malkin book signing recently by screaming, drum-beating and threatening protests during her speech at Berkley. You were probably among the animals denying her free speech in an institution of so-called higher learning. Maybe it was your desire to draw defenders of free speech into a pitched battle? Be careful what you ask for, you may get it someday. It won't be a police-state you have to fear, we don't pay our police to provide animal-control services. Jack |

Well, some members of the US administration have acted in that manner over the years. I think they are few and far between, but they are there. Once they get the president's ear, almost anything can happen. Lots of people in Europe still resent the gift of Eastern and Middle Europe to the Stalin as a present of appreciation. There were rumours around that Roosevelt committed suicide when the criminality of what he had dome hit home. I also recall reading something in a work by Churchill, where, the night before Pearl Harbour, he prayed the Japanese attack would go well in order to get the US into the war. It seems everybody knew what was going to happen but did nothing to save all those sailor's lives. They were expendable and needed to be dead in order to get public anger built up against the Japs. It's an age old trick. Worked in 9/11 too. Another note..The owner of the World Trade Center told the firemen there that they were going to bring down building seven. You know the one. It went down in a controlled demolition right after the firemen were called back out. His phrase was "We're gonna pull the building" He collected on the insurance anyway. Please read some these sites before getting bent out of shape. Look for articles dealing with the Fire Chief at the site. See how perfectly the thing goes down. A building that's a city block long won't do that if there's a problem at one end. OR the middle. meaningless. People who call themselves ''conservatives'' these days behave as socialists. The ''liberals'' are defending the Constitution and calling for fiscal sanity. It's all mixed up. Is that unusual? dxAce Michigan USA Well the Broadcaster was the first guitar Leo Fender mass produced and was the predecessor to the No Caster which became the famous Telecaster. The ''liberals'' are defending the Constitution and calling for fiscal sanity. It's all mixed up. I divide people between traitors and patriots. Between ''reality based community'' and ''psychotic imperialists''. And wake up, Dorothy. We torture people, too. "D" is for Duh ! Do Not 'include' Me in Your "WE" [.] And Oh-By-the-Way 'my name' is NOT "Dorothy" :o) pal ~ RHF .. .. |
