And, for the record, I seldom post here so to have a nice guy take time to answer my questions when I'm not a regular contributor only confirms he must be a good guy. (I've never e-mailed him off-line and we don't know each other at all.) I'm a stranger to him, but he goes out of his way to help...that's a good thing. Soon, it will be nostalgia if flamers persist. Please check out the term 'Idiot Savant' These people can be approaching a vegetative state, but still be extremely knowledgeable about ONE thing. One particular case comes to mind. The subject was of very low intelligence, with an IQ of roughly forty. His special skill involved telling you what day of the week any particular date was. He could go back centuries. Another gentleman could tell you accurately what the weather was like on a particular, specific day of his life. He had a knack of remembering it somehow. He couldn't tie his own shoelaces, but he was extremely good at what he could do. ...and so it with the Ace..we won't be getting involved with his lack of social graces at this time. mike |
