I bet ol' Thomas Jefferson is singing a different tune right now! LOL !

For every such quote from a Founding Father, one can find THOUSANDS of quotes
from other Founding Fathers that affirm the existence of God and support
Christianity. And, no, I'm not supplying any quotes because I don't have the
time. However, the information is easily accessible to anyone wishing to find
it.

You really should think twice about hating God as you do. You may die to regret
it.

Sure he does. He will get to heaven by 'Crushing' people who don't
think as he does. Very Christian...and VERY eleventh century.

Aw, that's just great: again, I find myself in agreement with mike.

My therapy bill is going right through the roof.

"Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD...." Isaiah 1:18

So, you're little rant here doesn't really fit too well with what
Jefferson -or- God said. What a shock. Yes, yes...I took the verse out of
context, so you're off the hook...right?

"The day will come when the mystical generation of Jesus, by the
supreme being as his father in the womb of a virgin, will be classed
with the fable of the generation of Minerva in the brain of Jupiter."
-Thomas Jefferson, letter to John Adams, April 11, 1823

And you find that thought amusing. How very...telling. I sure would like to
be a Christian, just like you! Teach me how! Oh, wait...you're supposed
to -show- us how, aren't you? Don't make me look up that verse about knowing
trees by their fruits. And while we're ranting here, any deity that would
send his creations to unlimited torture for limited sins is beneath
contempt. And most assuredly man-made.

I took my son into a Christian bookstore once and showed him the bumper
stickers that they had for sale, some of which were along the lines of what
"Crush" just said. That did wonders for ensuring that the boy thinks for
himself in the future. Keep up the good work, theists.

"Properly read, the Bible is the most potent force for atheism ever
conceived."

Isaac Asimov

For every such quote from a Founding Father, one can find THOUSANDS of

quotes
from other Founding Fathers that affirm the existence of God and support
Christianity. And, no, I'm not supplying any quotes because I don't have

the
time. However, the information is easily accessible to anyone wishing to

find
it.

All of which is beside the point. While I would have used the word infidel
instead of heretic in the thread title, the point's the same. If as you
assert the odds are THOUSANDS of quotes in favor of for each one against,
why isn't God in the Constitution? He ought to be in there by sheer numbers.
(Or are there more Christian quotes because theists don't know when to shut
up?) Gosh...could it be that even the theists amongst the Founding Fathers
thought that God should be left out of government? Could it be that they
felt that religion, even the One True Faith (tm) had no place ruling over a
society of free people, because then they wouldn't really be free?
Well...they must not have been Real Christians, because by all that's holy
this ought to be a Christian theocracy that the Americans reading this are
living under. Why, I'll bet they're roasting in Hell this very instant,
regretting their sins against God! Burn, baby...burn.

Oh, I almost forgot. "LOL." There we go.

You really should think twice about hating God as you do. You may die to

regret
it.

What's this about hate? I saw no hate from the original poster, and very
little hate in those quotes, while I did see some comments complimentary to
Jesus. Did you bother to read them all, or did you run in terror when you
realized that they actually had some common sense in them, and that some of
them were spoken by freethinkers? I notice that you snipped most of them
without addressing any of them. A wise move on your part! Maybe if you
ignore them, they'll go away.

And before you jump on -me- for hating God, I'll point out to you the
logical inconsistency of claiming that I hate something that I don't believe
in. Not that reason or logic will slow you down one whit.

You're going to have to hang on to it for me for awhile. I'm having trouble
adjusting to walking with hooves, and I'm sure to fall and hurt myself if I
try to carry anything. The tail isn't helping with my balance, either. :(

I do look pretty freaking good in red, though.

Tell me about it. Now I know how Ginger Rogers felt with those high
heels on while dancing with Fred Astair. The tail comes in handy for
those with a history of falling over backwards unexpectedly.
Reincarnated kangaroos who've been evil and came here may feel more at
home too. Gotta watch the spiked tail tip, though. It's hard on the
hide when it gets whipped around in the sulphurous winds. damn..there
it goes again..ouch.

So as the old saying goes, Hell really -was- afraid he'd take over, huh?

Or should that be, "So as the old saying goes, Hell really -was- afraid he'd
take over, eh?"
