Correct! It is an antenna formerly used by the Swedish military (I used
one when I made my military duty.) As these are no longer used by the
military, a lot of them have reached the surplus market here in Sweden,
and now apparently also the US. It is good as a portable VHF/UHF discone
antenna, as this is what it was built to be.

You could of course use it as a glasfiber mast to support other antennas
if you like.


For its wide range discones are good for spread spectrum and frequency
hopping transmissions wich are commonly used on high grade military
equipment.
Did they now switch over to satellite comms?
Any sugestions how much it would cost over here in europe/ germany? I
surely would like to get one or two of these masts for a very(!)
reasonable price (below 40EUR) :-) to support some wire antennas on
field days....
