Anyone here in the UK recently bought brand-new Icom IC-R75 (R-75) from the USA?

If you did, just wondering who you bought from. Presumably you send RX via
KIWA for mods. Did you also get the UT-106 Digital Signal Processing (DSP)
module with the RX?

Oh, and the voltage, I wonder how that worked out.

You might want to ask in the R75 Yahoo group also.
Registration is required, but it's a great place to get
information. Check the files section for Phil's R75 Cookbook

Aw, I joined that this morning. I probably should have gone there with my
enquiry. :c)

Well, I started looking at Rx's about 24 hours ago, and although the Drake
R8B and the Ten Tec Rx-350D are great Rx's and some others, I think the R75
is the better bargain.

Jim Hackett December 5th 04 04:11 PM

Saying that the R-75 is a better bargain around here is asking for trouble
;)

If you enjoy playing radio designer buy the ICOM and plan on fixing the
AGC and AM sync with the KIWA modifications if those functions are
important to you.

Don't buy the radio without the UT-106 which comes free with it from
time to time.

I've making enquiries with AES, and also about them shipping to KIWA first
for the mods. They offer UT-106 free and you get a $50 rebate, which I'm
hoping I can use, despite my being in the UK.

Hi

If you are succesful in getting an R75 sent to Kiwa for the mods,
please let us all know how it works out, as I'd be interested in doing
the same.

Cheers

Andy
