There's 2 's's is Christmas, and they're both dollar signs.

I would think that Jesus would prefer to distance Himself from the
annual greed orgy. Just guessing here...

Well, as a presumed Christian, you ought to know that the heart of
Christianity is EASTER -- i.e., the Resurrection -- NOT Christmas, His
birth.

Yes, on Christmas we celebrate the birth of Our Savior, but it's on
Easter that we celebrate His more important conquering of death.

I've often wondered WHY God would need a gender. Being either male or
female means you're incomplete and NEED the other to 'do stuff'. God
has no need of any of this, being perfect AND complete.

It's not exactly likely God became male in order to get earth chicks.
I wonder to what extent human arrogance has influenced our
perceptions.

There's nothing remotely religious about Christmas. Jesus owns
nothing. He is appalled at the hypocrisy that occurs in his name. It
breaks his heart.

You know, David, I like some of what you say, but when you just run off
at the mouth like this, it *looks* really stupid. There are lots of
people who approach Christmas, and their lives, spiritually; I know
quite a few. Maybe your gang does not, but for the love of Mike, stop
being so philosophically provincial.

And get a radio, for cryin' out loud - it'd be nice if you'd contribute
something topical once in awhile.

Bruce Jensen

David December 16th 04 02:15 PM

''Philosphically provincial''? I just thought I was being painfully
honest. The older I get, the more I realize that just about
everything is the opposite of what it claims to be.

I post occasionally about radio. If I start an off topic thread I
always slug it OT. Who appointed you as the Sheriff, anyway?

Sheriff? Naw - just being painfully honest ;-)

There's a lot of misinformation on the internet in every corner. Much
of it comes from extreme statements like the one you made, offering one
side of a story as seen by a specific person with a "philosophically
provincial" attitude. Yours was relatively harmless, but some is
potentially very dangerous. Each one deserves to be challenged and
analyzed lest it become the mainstream concept without adequate
consideration.

Your statement about "opposites" reveals that, at least for some
issues, you see things in a polarized light. Most things are not so
black and white (the speed of light in a gravitationally-neutral vacuum
being a notable exception), and the affairs of humans almost never. It
always pays in some way to consider that (1) one's perception is not
always correct, and (2) other points of view may be equally valid.

This, not from a person who knows everything (not by far!) but from one
who believes that little perceived by humans is absolute and that all
ideas should be examined circumspectly.

RS,

I feel that Canadians should be focusing on Building a Better Canada
and criticizing Canada's shortcomings.

But, MII like a few 'other' posters who claim to be Canadians,
seem to be focused on being a constant critic of the USofA.

As to your statement: "I'm a nosy piece of ****."
This may be a 'personal' assessment of yourself
