Two Washington news items. New combat radios?
* ITT Industries Inc. received a seven-year Army contract worth as much as $2.5
billion to supply combat radio systems, with an initial order of $49.5 million. * The senior Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee backed away Thursday from comments that a mysterious and expensive government spy project itself was dangerous to national security. But he pledged to continue efforts to kill the highly classified espionage program. |
