Can anyone tell me how the memories are set up in the DE1103. I've
heard they are set in 16 banks and that they are set up in 2 banks. Do you tune between stored memories with the jog shuttle or tuning knob. How well do they work. TIA - John |

![]() the "analog" jog dial lets you tune thru the memories in sequence, #00...FF, including the hex memories (e.g., #0B, #0C, ..). You can use the numeric keyboard to jump to a particular numeric memory (0 to 99) but not the hex memories using A thru F letters as there are no keypads for these hex values ;-) Besides the 256 memories, the degen also remembers where you were last time in each band, hence the 268 or whatever memories being claimed. I have mainly BBC (local FM) and FM stereo stations on the first bank, making it easy to jump between the stored in memory stations (e.g., with jog dial). A nice feature is that mixing SSB/CW stations with FM is easy as the memory records not only the frequency but also the modes used etc. You can directly program in a frequency and jump to it. So I haven't tried to use the full 256 memories, it is too easy to just punch in a frequency or dial it up, or use the band scanning features to scan up or down each band for activity. lots of radio for modest $$, lots of fun too ;-) bobm -- ************************************************** ********************* * Robert Monaghan POB 752182 Southern Methodist Univ.
