Brochhi might also, but I didn't see it stated in his ads.
The newer model has an extra sticker on the front... a round one
that has what looks like a tiny transmitter tower and the
letters CNR on it.

From what I read, Lypton is seeling them and it says in his ad. I bought
mine from Brocchi and I have no problems with it and it's not one of the
"newer" models.

I just took delivery of an 1103 from brochhi. received it ten days ago. It
has the funny extra sticker on it and there was a tiny slip of paper inside
the box, looks like a Quality Control tag. It has a date: 04 08 11. Does
this mean November 8, 2004?

The radio works very well and is alot of fun to operate. I am really
enjoying it.
From brochhi it was shipped to me for $62.00. From date of me shipping him
a MO to the day it arrived UPS on my doorstep was ten days. I asked him via
email for the English manual, he sent me a link and I printed out the manual
myself, very pleased.

The Date Number Sequence could also be: YY MM DD [ 04 08 11 ]

YY = 04 = 2004

MM = 08 = Eight Month = August

DD = 11 = 11th Day of the Month
..
The Date would then be: 11 August 2004

I don't know if it means Nov 8, or Aug 11, but the
circular sticker is only on the post 9/28 1103s as far as I
know.

Ditto. I have found good performance on SW, MW and FM without using an
external antenna. The audio is quite good for its size. I think it's WELL
worth the price! Even the tuning knob works well on mine. I've paid $200 or
more for Sangean/RS models where the tuning via the knob was PATHETIC. If
you haven't tried an 1103 don't knock it : )
