![]() "running dogg" wrote I have an FRG-8800, and my only complaint is that power surges or fluctuations (such as can happen during a power outage) can scramble the microprocessors. I remedy this by keeping it plugged into a surge protector that I turn off when the radio is not in use. Other than that, it is wonderful for 20 year old technology. You ought to think about plugging it into a small UPS then, as surge protection normally clamps at 330v and provide no power conditioning (voltage regulation) whatsoever. Jack |
