Received via post today a QSL from Bangkok Meteorological Radio for reception on
December 8, 2004 on 6765.1 at 1200 UTC.

They sent both a verification letter and a verification folder QSL.

OK, I know skill is involved in this, but how much is radio, physical
location, antenna and whatever. You are killing me with these stations heard
from all over the world.

Is there anyone in TX receiving, for example Diego Garcia, and some of these
other hard to get stations? Am I going to have to move somewhere else?

I'm sorry! That was a very interesting propagation day as I recall, as I heard
them on 6765.1 throughout the morning and well into the afternoon. Also heard on
8743 as I recall.

It doesn't take much as I was using the R8 and a 70' wire, 9' above the ground
oriented N-S.

Report was sent out via post, with no return postage included. A fast turn
around, but it would seem as though many stations like that answer their mail
fairly quickly.

It shouldn't be that hard to receive Diego Garcia in TX. It's a matter
of listening at the right time with a decent receiver, a good antenna
and low noise conditions. It's also not that interesting. ;-)

Good to know they QSL. I sent out a report 12/23 for a 12/12 reception to

Interesting though from a propagation, test of equipment perspective, etc. It's
certainly DX.
