It's only 07:27 GMT (UTC) here...How strange is that?

I like to imagine a fine summer day in OZ while I'm laying in bed on a
cold winter's night listening to a live cricket match. Works for me.

That's not the real news here. The real news is that on December 26 the
worst disaster in 40 years happened practically in Australia's backyard
and what does Radio Australia broadcast instead of their regular current
events reporting? Cricket! Somebody knock some sense into the people in
charge of programming at Radio Australia. For now, I'm getting tsunami
news from the BBC, which is doing a pretty good job.

Well, perhaps RA isn't giving the tsunammi much coverage however their
military was pretty darn quick to react in the relief efforts. To
offer another perspective, if there were a natural disaster in Canada
or Mexico would our broadcasters give up broadcasting of a major
sports event? My speculation is no, at best there would be a
one-minute interrupt and then it's back to the game.
