Yemen 9779.7

Presumed Republic of Yemen Radio in Arabic on 9779.7 at 1950.

To late today, but supposedly has an hour in English from 1800-1900.

Wiped out by VOA in Hausa s/on (9780) at 2030 via Sao Tome. I did catch the
Yemen ID at 2000.

Currently audible here again today on 9779.7 at 1630. Hopefully the signal will
improve enough to determine if English is indeed at 1800.

Level S6-7 into WI (same earlier) but local Sat. afternoon hash is high.
Audio sounds like a Soviet era transmitter. That female speaker
has a very sweet voice. Her voice cuts through well compared to the male
speaker.

Thanks for the report!

Yeah, she does seem to have a bit more punch. Transmitter: whatever they are
using would not appear to be of Soviet manufacture.
