Shortwave and Broadband
 

There is an article at www.cryptome.org FCC Rule on Broadband Over
Electric Lines.I was wondering if Broadband over electric lines will
have any effect on shortwave radio's and other kinds of radio's and tv
sets and computers?

over the air TV broadcasting, so this may just be the excuse they need
to pull the plug on analog TV and force every American to buy a pricey
(several thousand dollars) high definition TV, and force them to use
either cable or satellite services that have expensive monthly fees. I
personally think the FCC may be playing with fire here-if there's one
thing Americans care about, it's TV, and suddenly rendering 300 million
+ analog TV sets useless may create a severe backlash. The British
pulled something similar off when they stopped all 405 line TV
broadcasting, but the Brits care much less about TV than Americans do.

The plug won't be pulled on analog television
any time soon. Too many people own analog
televisions, and too few people have migrated
to digital broadcasts to warrant the cutover
yet. In other words, too many consituents for
Congressmen would call up and complain for
the FCC to follow through on the original
transition plan.
