It's one of those extended translations. It means "suckering the world
into another useless product".

I can't wait for the day when I can toss out all of my AM/FM radios to
buy a digital radio whose format will only be good for 5 years until
they expect you to throw out that radio and buy another. How about those
TVs as well. What a hoot that Radio Shack is still selling the tiny
handheld TVs, considering that soon they will be totally useless, I
guess everyone is going to carry a cable TV converter size box so that
they can use their handheld TVs. Not likely.

And for all you radio collectors, those of you with radios from the
1930s that still function. You'll need to start your own low power
station to listen to them soon.

Computers have brought us this ludicrous idea of junking what we have
every 3 years to buy a faster machine. You can't even order one without
improvements in speed occurring while you wait for the delivery of your
now antiquated machine.

Bill Gates states that DVDs will be antiquated within 10 years. Throw
them all away and buy the new system.

Today's products are more interested in obtaining exclusive manufacturing
rights than they are in truly improving the service.

Just out of curiosity: anyone know what "Mondiale" means, or
translates to, in Digital Radio Mondiale (DRM) ?
