Pop Standards format at 570 AM will become the Fabulous 690 AM

Clear Channel frequency flipping leaves 1150 AM format-less...expect a

I wonder if the KLAC calls will stay at 57 AM.

Pop Standards format at 570 AM will become the Fabulous 690 AM

There is no station at AM 69 in Los Angeles. It's too close to KIRN-AM 67
(Simi Valley) - unless CC bought AM 67 and is moving it to AM 69?

You know, you guys really need to get out more often, get some social
contact with adults, maybe spend a little less time hurling childish insults
at one another over the internet from behind anonymous names. Just a
suggestion.

Please don't discourage him.

I can't get a proper fix of sibilance in real life.
That 'YESssss' is just priceless. It brings images of the Snake in the
Garden of Eden to mind, but instead of apples, it's WMD. You know the ending...

Clear Channel has a new CEO, the founder of New York's first all
sports outlet, WFAN. Perhaps under him CC will improve. Perhaps it
won't have such wonderful procedures as having someone in Florida do
the "local" content between songs in Iowa by reading through an Iowa
newspaper because, after they pay inflated station prices and
financing, a local DJ in Iowa is too expensive.

"The FCC's efforts to tighten regulation of broadcasters under its
power to enforce standards of decency is deceptive. Most of us would
like to see broadcasters exercise 'good taste' in programming. The
problem is that we can't always agree on what is tasteful.

"Besides, for adults and some teenagers, taste is not the only, or
even the most important, consideration. The media should also make us
think, excite our passions, provoke, stimulate, inform and challenge
us."

Two wrong facts in one sentence.

First, Infinity has a new CEO, not Clear Channel.

Second, Joel Hollander was not the mind behind the decision to build WFAN...
it was Jeff Smulyan of Emmis. Hollander was a management person who was told
what to do.

Perhaps under him CC will improve.

Except that the change is at Infinity, which is underperforming badly.

CEOs don't, generally, get into that kind of detail.

"Besides, for adults and some teenagers, taste is not the only, or

think, excite our passions, provoke, stimulate, inform and challenge
us."

Hollander has been, for many years, at Infinity (a part of Viacom) where
Howard Stern reigns, and where Opie & Anthony did their thing for a while.
Thinking Infinity is better on indecency than CCU is absurd and demonstrably
wrong.
