Default Panasonic RF-2200 and RF-2600

Greetings.

I'm keeping my eyes open for a good Panasonic RF-2200 on eBay. I'm in no
hurry, so I'll just keep watching and the "right" one (great condition, that
I can buy cheap) will certainly come along eventually. I just saw a nice
one go for $127.

However, I'm also wondering about the RF-2600. Those also show up for sale
from time to time. There is far less documentation and fewer reviews for
this model, and I can't find a single side-by-side comparison. Is the 2600
the equal of the 2200 in terms of performance and build quality? If so, I
would think that having the digital display would be a nice addition. If
the radio quality has been downgraded, though, it wouldn't be worth it.

Knowledgeable ones, please advise. Thanks.

Jeff

There is a german site with Boesch in the name that has numerous well
written reviews of Panasonic radios. Do a google search.

UrS,

Inspite of the natural number sequence :
2200 2600 2800 2900
..
The Pansonic RF Series of Radios came out :
RF-2200 RF-2800 RF-2900 RF-2600
..
The RF-2600 was the last (best?) of the Panasonic
'portable' AM/FM Shortwave Radios that had Analog
Tuning with a Digital [Frequency Counter] Read-Out.
