Need SW portable w/clock+alarm

My faithful Sony ICF7600, which I bought in 1990 and have kept more for
sentimental reasons than performance, has just gone to sleep, more or less.
Clock still works but power switch, light, controls are unresponsive either
on batteries or power supply. For several years I've used it only as a
clock and alarm, mostly.

I have plenty of other SW radios for listening and DXing, and for
travelling I've tended to prefer my Kaito 1102, so I'm looking to replace
the Sony with something that has reasonable audio for a radio of similar
size, decent SW/MW/FM, not too expensive, just for bedside and wake-up use.

Does anyone have any favorites? If there's something that works nicely as a
travel radio it might become an alternate choice for trips.

The Sony 7600GR looks nice but it might be more radio than I need and it
would be good to keep costs down.

Suggestions welcomed, thanks.

The Kaito KA-1101. No sideband, 3.00 to 26.11 mhz. It has good
shortwave, excellent MW and FM, and you can wake up to a beeping
noise or the radio. $75 from most places, $50 at surpluscomputers.net.
Search for "radio" in the search box there.
