Tandy started as the leather company. In the sixties, they had comic
books about leather, the same way that Radio Shack had comics about
electronics.

Tandy bought Radio Shack, which had been a regional chain of electronic
stores in the Boston region, in the early sixties, and turned it into
the widespread chain we know today.

It's been a long time since I've seen mention of Tandy Leather, so I
wonder if it even exists anymore.
