for an answer to a question. The uninitiated child feverishly gazes
around the room, as if he is to make the selection on which child to call
for the answer, when in actuality he (though drawing more attention to
himself), endeavors to convince the teacher to call on someone else.

I can imagine that the 2600 fatalities that occur in the U.S. every year
due to people's cell phone use while driving will be greatly supplemented
by expanding the ability of people to send ludicrous images and messages
to each other all day long. Now there is truly a proper utilization of
bandwidth.

And you want to expand this? And you judge HAMs?

Is there a real need to expand business's access to the frequency
spectrum? I think not. GMRS has largely been ruined by the "5 Mile Walkie
Talkies" available at Walmart that people buy and give to their kids.
(They require licensing, but in today's intelligent cell phone society,
everything seems to be relegated to "toy status"). Businesses
increasingly use cell phones for dispatching purposes and longer distance
communication. Lastly, businesses (large industry) are moving overseas,
decreasing the U.S. need for UHF and VHF communications.

Come on Ric, use your head for something more than ear separation.
