Yeah, I copy that. Quite a bit of noise with it here in Michigan,
but he and the music can be heard clearly - his signal is actually very
steady.

You got it!
Yes, signal is strong and steady with some drifts but holds up well. I can't
make out the language he's speaking.
French or Arabic?????

It's not a pirate. It's an Israeli station.

Hmmm,
I couldn't find it scheduled so I thought it was a pirate. Funny, I changed
the title of the post from "Possible Pirate" to "Pirate"

Sorry guys I blew it.

Good music though!

May be. But Neither ILG nor EIBI lists *any* station at any time on
6975. When I move to 6973, where Galehzahal is, I lose him - he's right
on 6975 on my receiver. And they broadcast in Hebrew - that's not what
he sounds like (could be, though). If it is Galezahal, it's a nice
catch - 5kW from the Middle East! But without knowing for sure, I'm
inclined to believe it is a pirate, for now.

Yes Steve, I hear Hebrew now....

Lucky

Tony Meloche March 13th 05 03:02 AM

Beginning to sound more like a conventional broadcaster now.
Several "pro sounding" announcer voices, one of them a woman, and what
seems to be a news broadcast. I cannot make out the language, but it
*is* reminiscent of French, from what is intelligible.

I know. When I couldn't find it scheduled I changed the post from "Possible
Pirate" to "Pirate". At least the music is good and like you said it's a
nice catch even if it isn't a swashbuckler.

I agree - by virtue of zeroing the hets, he is actually on 6973,
but he is coming in with less interference on 6975, here. But the
longer I listen, the more obvious it is that it's a conventional
broadcaster.
I have output power shown as 5kW, but 10kW is more bellieveable (if less
impressive as a catch!)

That's because you didn't know how to look... and you have no memory of things
past...

How many damn times do you need to be told that the station on 6973 is an
Israeli station?

The biggest problem you have going there with identifying a station is that you
don't know how to zero beat a signal.

And that damn twin pass-band crap on an R-75 sure isn't helping.

Sheeeeeeeeesh... and everyone wonders why SW is damn near dead...

Got folks who remind you time and time again as to what is on 6973, night after
night after night and every time you stumble upon you can't remember who or what
it is...

Laughing my DX'ing ass off at the 'tards yet again!

Every night a signal propagates from Israel, which could happen often
since they broadcast every day of the week.

I don't know what the problem is either as I have seen it listed on
several frequency lists it should be no surprise.
