$80,000 Radios? Please tell us more. What was/is so special about $80,000
Radios. What are the special features and performance of such $80,000
Radios? I do not believe ANY radio in the World is worth $80,000 unless
it is made of solid Gold.

Custom built telemetry radios to track deep space satellites.
L-3Com/Microdyne RCB-2000 dual digital receiver with combiner built in,
ruining embedded NT and fully programmable for everything except which
microwave band they received.

Not solid gold, but a lot of expensive gold plated parts. I worked
with engineering to get it ready for the production floor, then
programmed the boards and setup the DDS boards. I worked on these
radios for the last year I was able to work full time.

Ok,OK,I suppose special kinds of radios are worth that kind of
moola.Considering design, develpement, engineering and special kinds or
parts and getting it all together.I wouldn't mind owning a radio like
that.

I collect the rearly Microdyne telemetry equipoment. Its all built
like a tank and at least one radio was on 24/7 for 30 years at NASA
without a failure.
