Rescue operation 8983 khz

Just heard something about an ongoing rescue operation on this Coast
Guard frequency.

To be a little more precise, I heard communications between Camslant
Chesapeake and a rescue craft (it identified itself as "Rescue XXX",
but I couldn't make out the numbers, thanks to my squeaky chair).

Steve,
I'm on the west coast so please let us know what is going on when you
have time.

It's Camslant Chesapeake communicating with Rescue 1712.

I was initially able to copy Rescue 1712, but am no longer able to.

Camslant Chesapeake indicated that they were also communicating on 5696
khz.

Unless my reception of Rescue 1712 improves, I'm not sure how much more
I'll be able to tell you.

Thanks, keep trying.
I was raised in Norfolk.

1712's (HC-130H7) home plate is Clearwater, Florida.

Also heard CAMSLANT calling 2127 (HU-25A) who's home plate was at AMARC a few
months ago and must now be back in service.

The traffic I'm hearing now seems pretty routine. Guess we just caught
the tail end of the rescue op.

I can hear the base calling an aircraft. Asking for position update.
I'm in Ottawa Ontario.
