Local Drug Store had 4 Cell towers put up on the roof..
One story building, School Bus Stop directly in front

Druggist, she is quite upset..

Anyone know how much power these ( average Cell tower) puts out ??

Would you have one in your Living room.. ten feet away ?? twenty feet

It depends on the density of cells in the area. If there are other cells
closely adjacent, then they may run as little as 4 watts. If there are no
closely adjacent cells, they can run upward of 400W EIRP. Antenna structures
are designed to put most of the power in the horizontal plane, with nearly
zero power going in a vertical plane (directly below the tower). 400 watts
would be hazardous if you were 2 feet from the radiating elements, but I2R
losses are significant, and the power level at 60 feet from the tower is
measured in mW rather than watts. (the necessary received signal for a phone
to operate is in the low nanowatts, and remember, this same tower has to be
able to receive a signal FROM the phone, which has less than 300mW of output
power)

Usually around 47 Jiggawatts.

Probably not cell phone as they tend to be H I G H up in the air, a one
story building is not very high. You should worry more about drugs in
schools that this effecting kids!

Actually I wonder what their radiation pattern looks like and I am thinking
that being right next to them is better than being let;s say 100 yards
away??

You need to be further away than that unless you're at the same
altitude as the antennas. I couldn't get a clear picture at a TV
transmitter site without aiming the antenna at another tower a couple
miles away. You need to study the antenna radio patterns to find out
the expected radiation pattern but you get only micro watts under the
antenna and for some distance from the base of the tower. The signal is
compressed into a horizontal beam to increase the transmit and receive
distance without running higher transmitter power. The smaller
transmitter has less to fail, is cheaper to operate at the expense of
good coverage close to the tower.
