Tory anger over BBC heckler show

Mr Howard was heckled at a meeting near Bolton
The Conservatives have demanded a BBC apology over a programme which
it says encouraged heckling at a meeting where Michael Howard was
speaking.
The Sunday Telegraph says the Tories accused the BBC of "serious
misconduct" after producers equipped hecklers with radio microphones.

But the corporation said it was making a legitimate programme on the
history and art of political heckling.

However, it said it would be investigating the complaint thoroughly.

Slogans

In a letter to Helen Boaden, the director of BBC News, Guy Black, the
head of Conservative communications said the event was "pre-meditated"
and intended to embarrass Mr Howard and disrupt his speech.

He said hecklers at the meeting in Horwich, near Bolton, had shouted
out slogans such as "Michael Howard is a liar" and "You can only trust
Tony Blair".

Mr Black said staff were in breach of BBC producer guidelines.

But the corporation said the producers were making a programme for BBC
Three called The History of Heckling.

In a statement it said the producers had observed hecklers at the
meetings of other parties and that the hecklers were not under the
direction of the BBC.

"The incident at the Michael Howard meeting only plays a small part in
the overall programme," the statement said.

"However, we will be investigating the complaint very thoroughly and
will be replying in due course."

Well, a lot of BBCWS news programs come from domestic Radio 4 and most
of BBC World (news e.g. on the cable/satellite network BBC America and
on PBS stations) is taken from BBC One.

It's a resource, not a final arbiter. I reserve that function for
myself. They are biased and I am aware of their bias. I still find
their facts to be real most of the time. I look for corroboration if
it's important to me. I accept nothing at face value.

(These BBC3 guys are definitely a menace to society... LMAO!!!)

LONDON (AFP) - A red-faced BBC apologised for requesting an interview
with Bob Marley, the Jamaican reggae legend who died 24 years ago.

BBC Three, one of the public broadcaster's digital TV channels, sent
an e-mail to the Bob Marley Foundation saying it wanted to do a
documentary about his hit song "No Woman No Cry".

It said the project would involve Marley -- who died of cancer in May
1981 at the age of 36 -- "spending one or two days with us", and that
"it would only work with some participation from Bob Marley himself".

In a statement, the BBC said: "We are obviously very embarrassed that
we didn't realise that the letter to the Marley Foundation did not
acknowledge that Mr Marley is no longer with us."

Marley would have been 60 last February 6, a date that was celebrated
with great fanfare by his legion of fans worldwide.

A BBC press officer, contacted by AFP in London on Friday, confirmed
that the gaffe was not an April Fool's joke.

The BBC has turned into a Socialist leftwing propaganda machine.

For years the BBC was an icon of the truth, in the last decade they
have been on the slippery slope.
How sad.

How sad.

There was one questionable story a few years ago where hank-panky was
suspected and the place was turned inside out.

The World Service is definitiely biased toward the global consensus
(well duh!) but still meticulously factual.
