Juday Smith did a nice review of the Tecsun PL-230 which is basically the same
radio. At the time of the review the Grundig model did not charge batteries in the
radio and the Tecsun did.

I have one, if you are into collecting small portable SW radios get
it. If you are looking for one that works reasonably well for under
$100.00, get the DEGEN DE102, a much better radio.
