did someone really get bumped for OT crud?

After the years of constant flame wars in this NG,
I was kind of shocked to read that Cuhulin has been
bumped for violating his TOS.

Isn't this a first?

Not that I am complaining, I just didn't think I could
live long enough to see it happen.

Has it ever happened before?

I lurk in several moderated groups where the managers
keep the SN under control, but I thought the REC groups
where open country.

Strange things happen. A certain fellow in Louisville called my ISP...

In an interesting conference call I set them straight.

It was fun, as they didn't want me to own the entire company.

If, he is gone it is because he lost his ISP (WebTV). You can't block or
"kick" someone off a reg newsgroup.

If, he is gone it was because his post were forwarded to the ISP.

He maybe just lurking and seeing what is being said.

After that idiot's flood of obscene posts to the group, I'll bet WebTV was
inundated with complaints. Good for them for actually doing something.

The terms of service of virtually all ISP's prohibit abusive and off-topic
posting to newsgroups, and ISP's do enforce them if many complaints are
received.

Did anybody try sending an e-mail to him? That would be the quick answer
to your question! lol

Personally, I doubt he was cancelled. His stuff has been sent to abuse
for a longtime...dozens and dozens by myself alone.

The ISP might have asked him to undertake not to post further off-topic posts
as a condition of keeping his account.

Yes, I sent an email, and did not get a Delivery Failure notice.
