I have also downloaded them as well. For those of us not familiar with
the ILG Database, please note that you must register to be given a user
name and password prior to downloading. It came as a shock when I saw the
e-mail today, as I had forgotten about it. Fortunately, I had minimal
junk e-mail today, or else I may have inadvertently deleted it.

http://www.ilgradio.com/ilg-order.htm

"We are very busy to update current Summer 2005 edition. Next ILGRadio
database and passwords will be available at the beginning of May. There
are several thousand requests which must be answered...
Don´t request ILGRadio Password more than 1 Time. Multi-requests will be
answered at last...

" ILGRadio database is available for those who are using ILGRadio
files for non-commercial purposes
" Passwords for ILGRadio are not available for those who are using a
freemail (freemailer) e-mail address
(e.g. hotmail, yahoo, mail.com, exite, altavista, bigfoot, iname, lycos,
netscape, usa.com, email.com, hotbot, freeserve.com, gmx, web.de,
freenet.de, ...)"

The database information can be opened in HAM Radio Deluxe (there are
other methods to use the database as well). Apparently HAM Radio Deluxe
uses the text version of the database, as there are other forms
available.

I had to use the 2C option below.

http://www.ilgradio.com/

http://www.ilgradio.com/ilgradio.htm

Short Wave - Data Files (Standard)

2a) ILGRadio Short Wave Database for ILGRadio software in
dBASE IV Format (with DOS Graphics):

2b) ILGRadio Short Wave Database for importing into
MS Access, MS Excel, Paradox, Star Office and others in the
dBASE IV Format (without DOS Graphics):

2c) ILGRadio Short Wave Database for Linux, ... in the
pure TEXT Format (without separators):

Software related links from ILG.

Steve

Installation of DAO
-------------------

1) The package consists of 3 files:
- DaoDisk1.exe
- DaoDisk2.exe
- DaoDisk3.exe

2) Copy these 3 files into an empty directory and
run each exe. This will produce 3 directories:
- directory "Disk1"
- directory "Disk2"
- directory "Disk3"

3) Enter the directory "Disk1" and run "setup.exe".

4) When you are asked which options you want to install,
you may either
- leave all settings as they are
or in order to save same disk space you may
- proceed as follows:
- In the first dialog:
- Check "Jet3.5"
- Uncheck "ODBCDirect"
- In the second dialog:
- Check "Excel"
- Check "Paradox"
- Check "XBase"
- Check "Text and HTML"
- Uncheck "Lotus"
- Uncheck "Exchange"

5) Finish the installation.

6) You may now delete the original directory and all
directories and files contained in this directory.

Since v3.5 is not the current version, they may or may not be still
available from microsoft.com, but you can get them at
http://www.ilgradio.com/gnpdb/gnpdb.html
with the rest of the gnpdb software.

Trying to import the log into the SWLOG program will result in a
problem. Fortunately, Philip Atchley, beaver 8899 and James Niven of the
SWLOG Yahoo group determined that the solution was to open the dbf file,
remove the last record (which caused the problem and is a copyright
notice), save and re-zip the file and then import the file into SWLOG.

Thanks to all who managed to solve the problem very quickly!

I attempted to download the latest version; used my new user ID and
password; no joy. Did I read somewhere that the ID was linked to your IP?
In which case, if it was dynamically changed, your ID/PW would not be
accepted.

From what I've been reading all over it would seem that ILG has one of the
quirkiest systems around. I'm not surprised.

ILG used to be pretty good many years ago when a hard copy was published.

Hank, you're correct. But last year the ILG guy sent me an email telling me the IP number
I was using at the time I registered. It still worked for me yesterday. At the time of registration
I wondered
just what you are thinking... what about people with dynamic IPs... but a bit later I got
the email... thankfully... because I hadn't bothered to verify what IP address I had used
when I signed up.

I think it was linked to your IP at the time you submitted for a
password. Mine worked. You might need to reapply.

I gave up using the ILGS database a year or so ago. I would prefer he
charge rather than the STUPID way he chooses now. I think in the past 5
years I have had to have 3 passwords ????? I want ot know WHY!!!

Whew I feel much better. Rough night.

I did reapply for a new ID, but I'm concerned. They stress not to apply

I applied in January from work in Alaska and the same username/password
works from home in California. So, it isn't tied to your IP.

The "Username" is the IP you were connected with when you posted the PW
request.
No other relation to any other IP you are using when connecting for DL.
