I just thousght of a way to overcome MUF!

Just use some sort of directional beam antenna, and aim it with a very
high angle of incidence! Wouldn't that work?

Isn't this "near vertical incidence" transmission.? That still requires
the MUF to "cooperate."

No. Because the wave will penetrate more easily.

The only way to beat the MUF is to drop frequency.
Or use a bird...Cell fone...Scream real loud...My
antenna on 80m is pointing straight up. That will not
help me, if the MUF drops below my freq...Which it
does do on occasion, in the winter, during low solar
cycle years...When it does that, it's usually in the mid
evening. The MUF will usually go back up, by
10-12 PM...In the meantime, you can go to 160m...MK
