I had emailed the company doing the broadcast. They dont have a schedule
when the transmission will start, but they plan to put out PR right before
the broadcast happpens.

I plan to record it as I wont be home, I will be 70+ miles east in FN41 for
the VHF/UHF contest which i doubt the broadcast from Alpine will go that far

This is to commemorate 70th Anniversary of the very first FM broadcast,
ever.
On the original frequency, at original site, with copy of original
transmitter.

42.8 MHz is low enough in frequency that some DXers might get skip
reception. Most ICOM radios go high enough to get this.

Thanks for the heads up,I remember You or someone else posting this before
but forgot the date. I will probably forget it again.
Maybe You could post it again on the scheduled Day.
I look at this Newsgroup more than I look at the calendar.
It's more convenient anyway.

Cheers

With a decent and high antenna with some gain it should be possible to
catch the transmission up to 100 miles away. At least there should be no
QRM....
If ionospherric conditions are fine it will likely be heard easier in
Europe than 150 - 300 miles from the transmitter site ... :-)
Ham transmissions on 6 mtr should be a good indicator.
