OT What do you think?

What do you guys think of this story I read by Mr. X?

measure the lawns to figure square footage.

Mr. X story didn't make it through Google Beta.
But a few words of caution.
Helicopters, ether model or real world big
machines are a bear to fly. I have a friend
who is big nto RC. He got his ham license
solely for access to the additional RC
freqs. Prepare to spend some money
and time, and maybe even money for
training. Call around to your local model
stores, I am sure there is a local RC club.
Go to a meeting and ask around.

What you discribe is very "do-able, but"
it won't happen overnight.

I agree. It just seemed like the long way around the barn just to measure
the sq. ft. of yards and what about foliage ,trees etc in the way of the
view to get accuracy? Weird!

Why not use a tape measure? GPS isn't as accurate as a tape measure
when measuring known boundaries.

Sounds like he might want to peep on a neighbor sunbathing in the
buff.......:-)

I wonder if he wants to take those nice overhead
designs that landscape designers make and give
it a personal touch by using the real items, like
the real hardscape and whatnot. Either way, it
seems more trouble than it's worth, since you can
probably get the gps data at the local county office,
and probably an overhead shot of the neighborhood
if you go to a utility that's done work in the area
lately.

Once the neighbours find out what he's doing, they're going to come
calling. He'll be lucky to get just tarred and feathered before being
run out of town. This badly conceived plan is a major invasion of
privacy and could likely result in some lawsuits. People have a right to
expect privacy in their own yards.
